Trade & transport
Dirkzwager has specialized knowledge of the areas of law that deal with (inter)national commerce. This includes trade, industry and logistics within the country borders and abroad. We have the in-house expertise to look after your interests in this area, from (preventative) advice through to the implementation of legal and arbitration decisions. We wish to be of service for our clients with this specialist knowledge. We are active for all professional parties involved in the logistic chain, including the sender, transport provider, addressee, (customs) carrier, cold storage and their (underlying) insurers. All modes of transport are covered (road/rail/inland waterways/sea/air). Our clients include (inter)national insurance companies, companies working in or for industry, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.
We provide legal advice and assistance with:
- (inter)national purchase, including Incoterms
- (inter)national logistical service, including the liability of all parties involved logistically
- (inter)national collection, including (execution) sales
- insurance issues
Do you use the Incoterms (different varieties) most practical for you, also in your transport documents? The logistic chain has many links with just as many agreements that you a a trading party cannot and need not always keep track of them. If you regulate your affairs properly in advance, it can prevent unnecessary costs, delays and disputes in the (near) future.
Different practical groups in our office are knowledgeable about (inter)national commerce. Adjoining legal areas such as corporate law and environmental law are also present. Where necessary, we bundle our knowledge in the interest of your case. Dirkzwager maintains worldwide relations with foreign offices, including through its networks TELFA (Europe) and USLAW (US), so that you are assisted adequately with regard to foreign aspects as well. In all matters, your contact person will still be your fixed contact.
